1 CCEA Approval
The Common Services Centers (CSC) Scheme has been approved by the Cabinet Committee of the Economic Affairs (CCEA) in September 2006 for setting up of 100,000+ rural kiosks across the country.
2 Empowered Committee
As per the CCEA approval, an Empowered Committee has been constituted under the Chairmanship of the Secretary, DIT, GOI with delegated administrative and financial powers to examine and approve individual State CSC proposals as per the CSC Guidelines.
3 CSC Guidelines
The Guidelines for implementation of the CSC Scheme in States was finalized by Department of Information Technology (DIT), Government of India (GOI) and the same was circulated to all the States/UTs.
4. Release of Fund towards Revenue Support
a. Based on the preparatory steps taken by various States, first instalment towards revenue support were approved by the Empowered Committee during the first meeting held on November 2006 and funds have been released to the following eleven States:
i) Assam
ii) West Bengal
iii) Bihar
iv) Orissa
v) Jharkhand
vi) Chhattisgarh
vii) Madhya Pradesh
viii) Haryana
ix) Punjab
x) Tripura
xi) Rajasthan
b. In addition to the above, revenue support has been sanctioned for seven more States during the second Empowered Committee Meeting held on March 07 and release of fund is under process. These States are:
i) Uttar Pradesh
ii) Uttarakhand
iii)Gujarat
iv) Himachal Pradesh
v) Andhra Pradesh
vi) Tamil Nadu
vii)Kerala
